History
History is never a simple chronology from a distant past.
1936 - 1956: the beginning of the journey.
Pietro Ceccato founded the company and started up the production of burners for bread-baking ovens. The company later went into air compressors and equipment for service stations. An auxiliary motor for bicycles and the passage to production of sporty motorbikes quickly boosted brand recognition.
1956 - 1980: times change.
The death of the founder and the boom of the automobile imposed great changes in the company that, having been acquired by the Capra and Dolcetta families, began concentrating progressively on the production of compressors, accessories for automotive garages, and car-washing units.
1980 - 2001: international development.
Ceccato became a leading industrial group in automatic systems for washing vehicles, now the company's core business. Partnerships sprouted up in both Italy and abroad; new companies opened in Brazil, Germany, and Poland. In 1997, air compressor production was shut down, while in 1999 the company acquired Daerg Italia, specialised in self-service washing tracks (Daerg would become an integral part of Ceccato in 2005).
2001 - 2008: transformation and relaunching.
In 2001, the inauguration of one of the most modern factories in the sector marks the company’s intention to compete with forerunners on the international market. The consolidation of the company and the reorganisation of the production and managerial processes allowed the outlining of a new long-term development plan.
Burners for baking ovens, air compressors for service stations, motorcycles, washing systems: our history is richly woven with skills that have allowed us to grow while welcoming and anticipating market changes and opportunities.
This is a story closely linked to the evolution of motor vehicles as well as an individual and collective passion for the automobile and, more generally, for means of transport as symbols of freedom, know-how, and communications.
It is the history of our people. People like Pietro Ceccato, the visionary founder who, with his charisma and enthusiasm for innovation, succeeded in laying the foundation for Ceccato as we know it today. People like Uberto Capra, the brilliant inventor of washing technologies and systems that have become benchmarks in this field. People like all the technicians, managers, and workers who, from one generation to another, have given and continue to give their irreplaceable professional and personal contribution.
History is never a simple chronology from a distant past. For this reason it is so important to cultivate it and know it. Because it tells us who we are, who we were, and who we will be.
